We are quite taken aback by the kind comments our guests have written about us and Piglets following their stays. It makes all the hard work and dedication to give our guests a relaxing time and we hope treat them as they would expect to be looked after more as friends than just another guest.

We are extremely proud to receive Trip Advisor’s prestigious Travellers Choice award for 2021 and again for 2022 placing us in the top 10% of the World’s hotels in only our third year of trading and retaining our 9.9 mark out of 10 on Booking.com’s rating system since we started in 2020, 2021 and now 2022.

General Piglet comments
A special boutique bed and breakfast
My wife and I visited piglets at the start of April and the whole experience from start to finish was exceptional, max and chrissie were the perfect hosts and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The welcome tea and cake is a lovely gesture and makes you feel immediately comfortable with the surroundings. We were shown around the property by max while chrissy prepared the tea and cake. We had a meal there on our first night which was lovely but the breakfast for me was just the best, it really sets you up to visit the local towns and villages.

Simply superb
This place is a delight. So often one has read reviews (both in the papers and on Tripadvisor/Google Maps/etc) and looked forward to the idyllic stay promised, only to be sadly disappointed by the reality. Piglets is the opposite. From the moment we arrived and were shown all the facilities by Max, and then had a cuppa and a slice of Chrissie’s tasty home made cake, it appeared to be on a different level.
Chrissie and Max have obviously travelled widely and have personal experience of what people want and works and what doesn’t in a B & B. They have then made sure that they offer exactly that.
The rooms are immaculately clean and well equipped with everything you hope for and expect. The bathrooms have great water pressure and ample hot water. There is extremely good wifi.
Breakfast offers a wide selection of mainly locally sourced delights – everything from a full English to Eggs Benedict, Arbroath smokies and lots more. We had a simple supper one evening but there was a good variety on offer.
There is an honour bar with a superb selection of drinks available, including a massive variety of different gins.
There are a number of common sitting areas inside – more like nice country living rooms, and, had the weather been more clement, there is a lot of outside seating and natural swimming pool. There is a games room and other board games available.
Chrissie and Max are also incredibly helpful and will answer any query.
It claims to be a home from home – and that is what Piglets delivers. You can see why it won B & B of the year for 2023. It has set an incredibly high standard. If only most other B & Bs were even a fraction as good…
Oinkcelent Stycation!
Nestling in the Essex countryside is this delightful gem is truly a most superior bed and breakfast. Despite our late arrival host Chrissie was wonderfully welcoming, showing us to our spacious, well presented and commendably clean ground floor room. This having well stocked tea and coffee supplies, with a mini fridge too. Chrissie gave us a quick tour of the impressive range of additional facilities; like a games room, sauna, a swimming pool, and an incredibly well stocked bar, making this a heavenly haven in which to relax. Then there were the sumptious feasts that make up breakfasts and evening meals. Superbly cooked by Max and Chrissie you are assured of no meagre portions and a supreme treat for the tastebuds ! Max was also very helpful in providing us with a laminated map for a unscheduled visit to Saffron Walden. The best b n b we have have stayed in by far.
Unbelievable
Wow! What a place, everything is first class, every tiny detail is thought about. The food, the surroundings and most of all, Max and Chrissie are absolutely incredible. Already looking forward to our next visit. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
A hidden haven
Thank you, Max & Chrissie. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend escape. I can only echo everyone else’s positive comments; everything is so well thought out. We really appreciated your passion for high-quality produce (our breakfasts and dinners were delicious), which is either carefully sourced or homemade, not to mention the abundantly stocked honesty bar. Two other couples that we met during our stay had returned several times – and we could see why. We look forward to our next visit.
Hidden Treasure
I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. This is the first time I have ever stayed in a bed and breakfast and I can honestly say this is not what I expected. It was so comfortable. The room was perfect, the food was great, The couple that own it Chrissie and Max could not have been nicer. Giving us information about the local area and making sure we were comfortable. All in all an absolute lovely experience.
Amazing B&B!!
The best B&B we’ve ever stayed in! You couldn’t fault anything, from the moment we arrived when Max greeted us and showed us everything there was for us to do and use. The room, and everything in it, was excellent. Comfy large bed, wonderful walk in shower and beautifully decorated. The games room was excellent, the lounge was cosy and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed playing scrabble on the handmade games table. The selection of drinks in the honesty bar was amazing, especially the gin collection! The choice and quality of food available for breakfast was superb. Max and Chrissie made us feel very welcome and couldn’t do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. Thank you from Stuart and Susan.
Relax and unwind
Our favourite place to relax and unwind. Hosts Max and Chrissie go above and beyond to make sure your stay is fabulous every time. The rooms are light, airy and extremely comfortable with everything gleaming and pristine. From the honesty bar, guest lounge, well equipped games room, gym, sauna and not to mention the natural pool to take a dip in there’s everything you could possibly need for a well earned relaxing break. Breakfast is superb with a great choice on the menu catering for everyone’s tastes and needs. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic Stay
Chrissie and Max made us feel very welcome for our 2 night stay. The rooms are extremely well appointed, everything you could possibly want is available. These are high end rooms with excellent attention to detail, from the ‘hidden’ T.V., the magnifying mirror, homemade cookies……the list goes on. We ate at The Piglets both evenings, the food was top class. Can’t wait to come back again, couldn’t recommend highly enough!
The best
Put quite simply this is Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons of B&Bs. Great hospitality, comfortable accommodation and wonderful home cooked food, all in superb surroundings. Well worth 5 stars – maybe even 6!
First class at Piglets Boutique
We couldn’t have asked for more during our stay at Piglets Boutique it was perfect apart from we didn’t stay long enough!
The attention to detail was spot on you couldn’t ask for more.

Piglets Boutique B&B, Wimbish
Sorry for the delay in writing this review. We stayed mid Feb for B,B and evening meals for 2 nights. This B&B is fantastic and cannot be faulted in any way. Hosts Chrissie and Max could not be anymore hospitable. The rooms are luxurious. There are separate lounges in the B&B with a well stocked honesty bar and huge TV. Also separate games room with full size snooker table, table football, table tennis and dartboard. Breakfast is huge and the choice and standard of evening meals were excellent. Their 2 dogs Haimish and Harry were very friendly and pleased to greet you
Sadly it rained so we could not use the Mediterranean Garden or the cold water natural pool. We would be happy to return to Piglets. Thank you for our stay
Just the loveliest break
We had had to postpone our stay three times due to successive lockdowns and restrictions, and having made the original booking in February 2020, we finally made it to Piglets in October 2021! It was worth every minute of the wait.
From Chrissie and Max’s warm welcome, to the time we reluctantly had to set off for home three days later, out stay was amazing. Our room was incredibly well-appointed, with every conceivable amenity and the most comfortable bed I have slept in. With a full range of facilities including pool, gym, sauna, table tennis, honesty bar and guest lounge, Piglets has more to offer than many 5-star hotels we have stayed in.
As for the cooked-to-order breakfasts – truly delicious!
Max and Chrissie are delightful hosts, friendly, helpful and utterly charming.
We shall be back as soon as we can.
Outstanding in every way
We felt royally pampered from the moment we arrived at Piglets. Max and Chrissie have thought of everything their guests might need, then wrapped the whole lot of it up in welcoming warmth.
Piglets is a stunning place – the Mediterranean patio and natural pool were highlights (we braved the chilliness for an early morning swim or two and it was amazing!) – but it’s all the thoughtful and irresistibly homely touches that made this such a special stay.
These include abundant facilities, such as a games room, gym, sauna-soon-to-come , and a relaxing guest lounge with a beautiful rotating games board (evening Scrabble never felt so indulgent!) They also include those holiday practicalities, like top quality bedding, and bathrooms that actually have enough space to put everything you’ve brought with you.
Oh, and the food and drink deserve a stand-out mention. The breakfasts are superb, cooked fresh to order with specially sourced produce and lots of home-made elements (Max and Chrissie are serious foodies, and it shows!)
There’s a gorgeous evening menu of pizzas and platters, and we also had some of Chrissie’s mouthwatering home-baked cake, plus a snifter or two of home-made limoncello… all outstanding.
And did I mention the honesty bar, with its wine, a huge gin library, and pre-mixed cocktails galore? We were even offered a complimentary Bloody Mary shot at breakfast – what a way to start the day!
In case you hadn’t guessed already, we just couldn’t have loved our Piglets break more, and we will definitely be back
Adult only tranquil stay near Saffron Walden - fantastic!
What a fab find! Just back from 3 nights at this wonderful place, didn’t feel the need to go anywhere just relaxed, enjoyed the games room, the honesty bar, had a dip in the natural swimming pond (chilly yes, as we’ve not had a great British summer) but invigorating and unique all part of the charm. Chrissie and Max are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts are just top class ! As well as lunch / dinner options … this place is well and truly worth a visit we highly recommend.
Hands down the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in
My sisters and I stayed at Piglets and we had a wonderful 2 nights. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the natural pool so lovely to swim in, the breakfast utterly delicious, (a lot of choice as well). The honesty bar is amazingly well stocked and with a gym, a games room and many walking options there is so much on offer to do. We ate at the Fleur De Lys for dinner on the Saturday night which we would also highly recommend. Finally the owners Chrissy and Max are also amazing; they are so welcoming, knowledgeable and will help in anyway they can. I’d stay at Piglets over any 5 star hotel any day. We will be coming back!!
An unbiased review
Firstly I must disclose that the owners are parents of a close friend, yet those that know me would definitely still expect an unbiased review.
In short, the owners Chrissy and Max (AWT) have clearly put so much thought into their property, in order for their guests to have a wonderful stay.
The rooms and bathrooms are clean and created to a high spec, the natural pool is cold but amazing. The honour bar has a generous offering of about 30 different gins, and all the food is banging. Even first quality pastries are offered alongside a full English.
The games room is a great addition too, being able to wind down and relax while playing some snooker.

Beautiful and relaxing weekend out of the city
Went to Piglets to get out of London for the weekend with my girlfriend.
It doesn’t get more 5 star than this. The food is ludicrously good, the rooms are beautiful, clean and full of cool extras (like a TV coming out of the foot of the bed!!) and the natural swimming pool is an absolute godsend when it’s hot outside. Hard to believe you’re still in England when the sun’s out. Chrissie & Max were awesome hosts too and there’s so much to do around the place – it’s great fun. Such a memorable weekend, would go back in a heartbeat!
This is an exceptional B&B
So much thought has gone into the set up of this B&B opened in the summer of 2019. Our room was exceptionally well appointed with a very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with large shower and just about everything else you could possibly need. There was a wide choice for breakfast and it was delicious. Lovely welcoming hosts keen to meet your needs to make the stay an enjoyable and memorable one. This is a truly exceptional B&B.
Wonderful experience
I was one of the first guests to stay at the Piglets and the experience was truly wonderful. The rooms are very nicely decorated and clean and the atmosphere is very calming and peaceful. Max and Chrissie are the ultimate hosts and go out of their way to ensure your stay is unforgettable. The breakfast was delicious and nothing is too much trouble. Highly, highly recommended and I cannot wait to go back!

What a great find. Piglets is so more than a B&B! The facilities far exceeded my expectations and if only we had had the weather we would have loved to have made use of of the Mediterranean courtyard and swimming pond. Perfect place to chill out & relax
We had a lovely 2 night stay at Piglets for our Wedding Anniversary. Max & Chrissie are fantastic hosts and make you feel very welcome, nothing is too much trouble for them.
The rooms are gorgeous with very large beds, everything is to a very high standard, spotlessly clean.
Delicious food, plenty of choice for breakfast and evening meals. Best ingredients used, locally sourced, homegrown produce. Well stocked honesty bar with a very large gin selection.
Great facilities on site including a natural swimming pond which we were very lucky to be able use as it was very hot weather during our stay, it was a welcome relief taking a dip in there at the end of the day.
Great location, Saffron Walden is close by and is well worth a visit.

Location is beautiful, lovely area and tucked away in to a quiet corner. Max & Chrissie are amazing hosts and breakfast especially was a particular highlight! Absolutely loved our stay and will 100% be returning!
What a find
Absolutely lovely stay. Booked last minute and just for one night as we would be in the area. We are very much hotel people so wasn’t quite sure what to expect with it being a B&B. It was tremendous! So quiet and relaxed. We braved the 9 degree pool albeit briefly! Hosts were superb, food was excellent, lovely cocktails and we played for a good few hours in the games room. We will be back again for sure for a longer stay. A little tranquil haven.
Amazing stay at Piglets
We stayed at Piglets for two nights, and have to say it was one of the best experiences we have had. From the moment we arrived, Max and Christie could not have been friendlier, nothing was too much trouble. The room we stayed in was excellent from very comfy bed to all the storage and facilities you could ever need. The lounge area was very cosy and inviting, with access to a very well stocked honesty bar. Breakfast was amazing with all local produce being served. The evening meal if required was also very good. Fabulous weekend away
We have just returned from a two night stay at this amazing B&B near Saffron Walden. Everything about the place was top notch. Really lovely room with a huge and hugely comfortable bed with luxurious sheets and a 5 star bathroom. The food was superb and Max and Chrissie go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you could possibly want. Loads to do on site with a lovely guest lounge and attractive terraces and pool area for when the weather is good.
Chrissie even wrote out instructions for a great circular walk from the property which we really enjoyed. We visited Saffron Walden, Wicken Fen and Ely all of which were lovely and there were numerous other places such as Cambridge which are nearby that we are saving for our return visits. Would highly recommend and hope to be back before too long
Beautiful place, lovely people
There’s plenty to do at Piglets, including swimming in the natural pool, croquet, petanque and a well equipped gym. Saffron Waldon is a twenty five minute cycle ride away through wonderful countryside. We love history and spent many happy hours cycling out to the numerous ancient churches and settlements in the area.
We’ll be back in the UK next year and we truly hope we can fit in another visit to Piglets

SIMPLY AMAZING!!
Superb
We had the most wonderful stay at Piglets B & B. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by everything on offer and were beyond impressed with every aspect of our stay here. So much thought has gone into this place and everything is top quality.
We stayed in the beautifully furnished, air conditioned Ashdon room with a Superking TV bed and the most comfortable mattress and pillows we’ve ever slept on. Again, everything in the room is high end with lots of luxury touches. This room also has a lovely balcony overlooking the natural pool.
The breakfasts are truly amazing and the best we’ve ever had – huge choice and excellent quality produce, as were the wonderful food platters on offer for lunch/dinner. We ordered the mixed platter of fish, meat and cheese and it was superb, very generous proportions and of the highest quality.
The facilities on offer are brilliant and there is so much to enjoy. We were blessed with good weather and swam in the natural swimming pool and relaxed on the sunbeds. We also used the games room which has a full size snooker table, football, table tennis, darts etc and there are luxury board games in the guest lounge. The Mediterranean terrace is just stunning and the perfect place to relax. Chrissie and Max are the perfect hosts – so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. So many special touches impressed us throughout our stay and we cannot wait to return – we loved it. Highly recommended.
SIMPLY AMAZING!
Honestly, if I could I would rate this B&B 11/10. Chrissie and Max left no stone unturned. The facilities are as good if not better than a 5 star hotel. The food is outstanding and it’s clear to see that C&M love what they do. We got such a warm welcome and the personal touch makes for a relaxing home from home atmosphere. I just wish we stayed longer so we could enjoy all the facilities on offer.

Finest Boutique B& B - Perfect Retreat
Chrissie and Max are definitely the hosts with the mostest – what can we say but wow and thank you! You have really thought of everything, too much to list but here’s some; adult only high end luxury bedrooms and bathrooms, luxury sun beds around the stunning natural swimming pond, the water was so cold it took our breath away but what an amazing experience and we soon aclimatised. So much on offer on site from Pétanque in a little corner of France, games room with snooker table, darts etc. There’s even a small gym and a sauna for private hire. Then enter into the Italian inspired courtyard for lazy days and homemade cake, the most amazing food platters and honesty bar. All the food we sampled was the most amazing quality and taste, all food and breakfasts better than 4*\ 5* hotels. Max packed us up the best vegetarian picnic we have ever had which we took on a lovely stroll through the countryside complete with picnic rug and Prosecco. We can honestly say we left after a friends two nights stay feeling completely pampered and relaxed. Thanks so much Chrissie and Max, we were so lucky with the wonderful sunny weather but will be back as even in the cooler weather there’s the indoors games lounge to enjoy and your wonderful food and hospitality and lovely places to visit nearby like Saffron Walden and Audley End house and gardens, Helen & Alison x

There is a superb breakfast menu and evening meal selection. Rooms are comfortable and cleaned to a high standard. We loved the deep bath. ❤️🛀
As a self confessed coffee addict the lavazza machine in our room was much appreciated! A cold water dip in the freshwater swimming pool was an experience not to be missed. Chrissie
and Max have built a luxurious and unique business to be sure. The secret ingredient is their personal gift of genuine hospitality. We wish them all the best in the future.

Piglets is 5* all the way! Chrissie and Max are exceptional hosts and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very well equipped. The sauna, games room, petanque court, pool and patios are beautiful. And the food!! Wow! Delicious breakfasts and evening meals all made with extreme care and using the very best ingredients. Max and Chrissie’s passion for the best things in life serves guests very well!
The bar – including a gin library – and guest lounge with books, music, games is home from home in the best possible way!
Walks in the surrounding countryside are lovely, and Max and Chrissie are very willing to suggest locations to visit, eat, walk etc
I cannot recommend Piglets enough – if you’re looking at it as an option – go ahead and book! You won’t be disappointed!!
Can’t recommend highly enough
Just returned from a fabulous stay at Piglets. Chrissie and Max are the perfect hosts – nothing is too much trouble. The room was lovely (fresh milk in the fridge is always a good sign) with air conditioning and an ultra comfy bed adding to the experience. Food was outstanding, from the amazing breakfasts (complete with Bloody Mary shot) which kept us full till late afternoon, to Christie’s home baked cakes, to the delicious dinner platter we had on our last night. We also enjoyed the facilities especially the games room and outdoor pool. Overall, so good that we are already planning to come back in the spring/summer!
The Only Way is Piglets
2 night stay celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. From the arrival to departure Chrissie and Max are amazing hosts.
They have thought of everything to make your stay luxurious and memorable for all the right reasons.
Breakfasts were best we’ve ever had in any 5* hotels not alone B&Bs, platters and homemade pizzas were delicious and plentiful.
Great selection of wines/beers and gin in honesty bar.
Fabulous base to explore the beautiful surrounding villages but equally plenty to occupy yourself at Piglets if the good old british weather not on your side. Games room with full size snooker table, darts board, table tennis and table football will keep you entertained.
Unfortunately we did not get a chance to use the outdoor natural pool.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be rebooking soon.

Piglets? Simply the best!
From the moment you rock up to the five bar gate, you know Piglets is anything but your average country B&B.
Chrissie & Max set standards for others to aspire to. Informal and friendly from the outset, Max introduced us to everything this beautiful property has to offer…. natural swimming pond, petanque, fully equipped games room, excellent
gym, Mediterranean terrace, ponchos for the cool evenings, wellies on loan, superbly comfortable guest room with a gorgeous games table, Alexa everywhere….and a very reasonably priced honour bar which must rival the county’s best for its selection of wines and spirits.
Guest rooms are beautifully furnished – lacking in nothing for a comfortable stay. Tea and coffee are to the highest standard, accompanied by home made biscuits.
The food here is simply gorgeous…served from a kitchen with a large window to the dining area. Platters are phenomenal, offering generous and wide selections of local produce, making for a delightful sharing experience. Similarly breakfast – Max & Chrissie offer a full menu of cooked to order specialities which kept us going all day.
The negatives? Just one…

Peace and tranquillity with exceptional facilities
For the first weekend away of the year, we couldn’t have stumbled upon a more splendid place. Set in the countryside, with gorgeous field views, it’s perfect for a relaxing break. The hosts, Max and Chrissie have found their calling in their B&B, with the perfect balance of ensuring you’re happy and settled and leaving you to enjoy your stay and feeling like the B&B is your second home. So let me get started…
The rooms – these have everything you would want and are a fantastic size and very comfortable. More USB ports than you can shake a lead at. There’s also an aircon unit that you can use to cool down or add extra heat also if so needed. The luxury bathrooms have either walk in rain showers or high end baths with rain shower. Superbly clean and with a lovely heated towel rack for those fluffy towels.
The all important sleep – The beds – they’re hypnos mattresses and you just don’t want to leave them! The linen is exquisite and you get a choice of two pillows…but both of them felt like your head is resting on a cloud.
Food – This is NOT your standard B&B…there is large menu for breakfast and every dish, they cook from scratch (and you can watch them doing it through the big glass window that separates the kitchen from the dining area). Do NOT expect to go hungry – the breakfasts set you up for the day. Fresh apple juice from their own apples, made to order fruit salad (not left on the side of a buffet like most B&Bs), freshly made preserves and honey from a local beekeeper. There’s a list on the menu too so you can see where all their produce come from (so we now have some of the sausages that were in the all English breakfast…never tasted anything quite so tasty!). And who doesn’t want to be offered a complimentary bloody Mary shot when you sit down – you are on holiday after all!
Leisure facilities – I really enjoyed the natural swimming pond each morning – it’s not heated (I’m a wild water swimmer lover) so it was lovely to just swim in ultra clean and non chlorinated water. There’s also a gym that’s been newly set up to keep those love handles away from all the food…and a huge games room with darts, billiards and ping pong. There’s also croquet and Petanque but the weather wasn’t the best for that when we visited.
I mentioned earlier that this isn’t your standard B&B – you can order lunch and also dinner. We didn’t have the lunch but had a sharing charcuterie board one evening. Max makes the most mouthwatering Abroath pate! You can either eat in the dining room which is lovely and relaxed or in better weather, enjoy eating alfresco on the amazing Mediterranean patio. Somehow it doesn’t really feel like you’re in Essex!
So with all the above and then the shared sitting room where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail from the phenomenally stocked honesty bar..it’s just a wonderful place and incredible value for money. It’s a bonus it being adult only, with never more than 10 guests at a time.
Max and Chrissie really have thought of everything and are a marvellously hospital couple. We only stayed a few nights, and have already decided a return trip is on the cards, but this time for longer! This place just feels incredibly special.
Perfect Piglets
Stayed at Piglets for two nights and everything was just perfect from the warm welcome we received from Chrissie upon arrival to the lovely touch of a complimentary bottle of wine on our departure. Piglets is a very special place not like any other B&B. Max and Chrissie – the owners really do their very best to make you feel like you are staying at an old friends house for the weekend. Their attention to detail and passion for what they do shines through everywhere. Loved the honesty bar, the freshwater pool, the wonderful generous sharing platters and a delicious breakfast both mornings. A truly unique place in the beautiful Essex countryside.

We loved our stay here at Piglets Boutique B and B! It has such a lovely homely feel in the room and all the other facilities. The honesty bar is also a great addition for when you fancy a little treat in the evening without going far. Breakfast the next morning was delicious with a wide range to choose from. Max and Chrissie were also great hosts who were very welcoming and full of knowledge about the local area. Highly recommend coming here, you won’t be disappointed!

This place is an absolute gem! The attention to detail around the property is amazing – it is super comfortable, spacious and extremely relaxing. Deserves its accolades
From the moment you are greeted by your hosts Max and Chrissie you know you in for something very special. We only stayed 2 nights on our way to Norfolk but wished we had stayed longer. It isn’t often you find a place to stay, be it five star hotel or b&b, where your hosts have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay perfect. Piglets is such a place. The beds, the lighting, the bath/Showers, the quality of the fittings, in room entertainment, air conditioning are all perfect. The breakfast, in its variety and quality, the delicious evening meals and the home-made preserves and gin as well as the honesty bar were all excellent. The natural swimming pool (which we didn’t use but others did), sauna, the full size pétanque court, croquet and games room with full size snooker table, table tennis, table football and darts and the superbly crafted games table in the guest lounge mean you will always have something to do whatever the weather. Thank you Max and Chrissie. We will be back

To describe Piglets as a B&B is to undersell what is on offer – yes, there is a bed (and a very sumptuous one at that!) and yes, there is breakfast (and what an absolutely fabulous selection of breakfasts are available!). What takes Piglets from being very good to, in our humble opinions, the best we have stayed in – we certainly cannot think of one better – are the hosts, Chrissie and Max, who offer the most welcoming of stays and have such an attention to detail that many, so called, high-end hotels could learn from.
We now just need to find an excuse to return!!

Having raved to our family after our first stay last year, we were lucky enough to have been given a gift voucher for another fantastic break at Piglets which has now become our go-to destination for a relaxing luxurious break that’s not too far from home yet feels a world away. Chrissie and Max are the perfect hosts in a perfect location (along with Hamish and Harry, the very friendly resident dogs). Given the combination of great facilities on site, the absolutely delicious breakfasts and evening meals and a fantastically well stocked honesty bar, there really is no need to leave.

A really great place to stay
We recently spent two very enjoyable nights at Piglets. What a gem! We were the only guests staying so got personal treatment and nothing was too much trouble.
Max and Chrissy have done a brilliant job converting a former piggery into a little haven in the heart of the Essex countryside. Everything is done so well. Our room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable, the king sized bed was especially appreciated.
The food was all absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared and with carefully sourced ingredients and very generous servings. Breakfast is worth a special mention – the choice is huge and so are the portions.
For the evening there is a very well-stocked honour bar, the highlight of which is an amazing selection of gins. Be sure to have a taste of Max’s limoncello or gincello (or both). Absolutely delicious!
There was lots to keep us occupied as well – we played backgammon in the guest lounge and there is a fantastic games table made by the family firm next door, Geoffrey Parker Games. We also enjoyed a walk along the trails starting right across the road from Piglets. We didn’t try them this time but there’s also a the sauna and a small gym.
It’s the extra little touches that made Piglets special too, like a welcome slice of Chrissy’s cake or cookies, fresh milk in your room, a shot of Bloody Mary with breakfast to kickstart your day or the boot room with lots of different sized wellies if you fancy a walk.
All in all a superb place to stay with lots of interest nearby as well. We are already looking forward to the next time later in the year when we hope we’ll be able to enjoy the Mediterranean patio and natural swimming pool as well. And Max’s own gin will be ready for consumption too!

The best B&B we have ever stayed at. We do not say that lightly, as we have stayed at some wonderful places over the years, but Piglets is exceptional.
The moment we arrived Max and Chrissie welcomed us, with a tour of the facilities which include a stunning natural pool, a large games room with full size snooker table, a gym, and numerous guest areas inside and out. We then settled in with a welcome cake and drink. Max and Chrissie were the perfect hosts throughout, nothing was too much trouble and they made us both feel very welcome.
The room was beautiful – we had Hempstead – on the ground floor overlooking the pool. Really well equipped with a super comfortable bed and lots of nice touches like the expresso machine, the lighting and lovely bathroom.
And then the food! Max is a wonderful chef. The list of options at breakfast is extensive and all that we tried were beautiful. In the evenings, we ate in each night and absolutely loved the sharing plates. All locally sourced and great value given the quality and quantity. The honesty bar worked well as well.
It was hard to force ourselves to leave at all during our stay, but we did manage trips into the local towns Saffron Walden and Thaxted, both really nice places.
We will certainly be returning again. We stayed for 3 nights, but left wishing we were staying longer.
Beautiful place to totally relax
From the minute we arrived Max and Chrissie made us feel completely at home. The facilities are great from the natural pond to the gym and games room there’s plenty to do rain or shine. The food is all delicious with the extra little touches like the Ginchello and Bloody Mary’s keep life interesting. There’s a weekly market just down the road and you’re half an hour from Cambridge for a day out.
We will definitely be back again.
A memorable and unique experience
We booked this at the last minute uncertain what to expect of a boutique b&b. It was a pleasant stay exceeding our expectations. Our room was furnished state of the art with great attention to detail and all the amenities expected of a hotel. Guest areas were tastefully decorated. The breakfast menu has an extensive selection of options and freshly prepared.
The offer of an evening platter was very welcome after a day of cycling with access to a bar. Chrissie and Max made us feel very welcome and we look forward to returning in the future.
More luxury hotel than B&B
Max and Chrissie made our stay at the fabulous boutique Piglets B&B absolutely perfect. From the moment of our arrival on Friday evening to leaving on Saturday morning nothing was too much trouble. Luxury rooms with complimentary toiletries, teas and coffee, even a proper ironing board, iron and hair drier!
A platter for two was offered in the evening and a large communal area where you can eat or just watch TV while enjoying the excellent wines from the finest honesty bar we have ever seen! Not only wines but beers and a huge assortment of all spirits and mixers too. As good a selection as any top hotel bar and at incredible prices! So no need to drive anywhere for food or drink, just forget the car and enjoy the fabulous natural swimming pool and a Lloyds standard gym, plus games, DVDs and books galore! Breakfast was a luxury feast. My wife anjoyed an Arbroath Smokie with poached egg while I went for the best Full English ever with proper bacon and the most amazing sausages I have ever eaten.
And all the while Max and Chrissie are working away making our stay perfect yet being the most convivial and generous hosts ever! We cannot recommend this place high enough and only wish we could afford them more stars for style, elegance, comfort of rooms (did I mention the luxurious comfort of the bed and best sleep ever?) surroundings, relaxing peace and tranquillity and fantastic company. Max and Chrissie are truly the hosts with absolutely the most. We can’t wait for a return visit in the very near future

My partner and I stayed at Piglets Boutique B&B a couple of weekends ago and enjoyed our stay there very much. We decided to pick Ashdon as our room of choice as we were won over by the private balcony that overlooks the beautiful swimming pond. It’s such a lovely room, with a wonderful comfy bed and all the necessities you could wish for.
Max & Chrissie were such brilliant hosts that looked after us from the get go! From delicious coffee and cake in the afternoon, to the Eggs Royale in the morning. The food was perfect! And not forgetting the Honour Bar with fabulous gin offerings, cocktails and beer snacks! Wish we’d booked for a longer stay as it was so relaxing and peaceful. I can’t wait to book our next visit!

We stayed only for one night, but wish it had been longer. The accommodation is very comfortable and stylish and the hosts are very welcoming. The food and honesty bar are great additions to this accommodation as it is in a fairly remote area. We will definitely return.

What a wonderful place, we enjoyed our mini break so much. We were welcomed with tea and cake on the terrace when we arrived, and then enjoyed a swim in the wonderful eco-pool followed by supper on the terrace. Chrissie and Max are very welcoming and the attention to detail is just spot on – another early morning swim followed by an amazing breakfast with many home made items – definitely worth a visit – thank you
I didn’t want to leave
I stayed at Piglets B & B over the August bank holiday and had a lovely weekend there. Chrissie and Max are perfect hosts and made me feel so welcome. I was greeted every morning with a cheery smile from them both and a genuine interest in what my day ahead had in store. I even received a text message one afternoon asking if I’d like a platter made up for later that evening. It was like staying with kind, generous and caring friends.
My room was lovely, clean, a good size with a super comfortable bed, and was well-furnished with a homely feel about it. The in-room tea and coffee making facilities consisted of a wide selection of quality teas and coffees, along with some good-sized mugs to enjoy them in. The breakfast menu had a great selection to choose from and included all of the usuals choices plus a few more. The sharing platters are huge and simply delicious.

Bed was really comfy and the room was spotlessly clean. The hosts were so kind and helpful and went the extra mile on everything.
Relaxing break
We spent a truly relaxing few days at Piglets. We really loved the relaxed breakfasts, Max accommodated our substitutions and whims so kindly and patiently. Everything was exactly as we had asked. I loved the excellent quality tea and coffee in the room, and especially enjoyed the Lavazza espresso machine. The room was outstanding with a very comfy bed and great linens. We loved the floor lighting for low disturbance night loo visits. Beautiful bathroom. We loved our bedroom doors opening directly onto the swimming pond and the 2 outside chairs for reading and relaxing in addition to the selection of deluxe sunbeds and mattresses. It was fun to see the two friendly dogs passing by with Chrissie, who always checked that we were ok. Can’t end without mentioning the yummy tea and homemade cake on the Mediterranean patio each afternoon (free on the first day, small charge after) which was a real highlight for us. Would love to go back, thank you Max and Chrissie.

What a great little spot for a short weekend break. I had heard some good things from friends and it certainly did not disappoint. Chrissy met us when we arrived and showed us round the place. The rooms are really roomy and thoughtfully put together, with the small touches making for a really comfortable stay. The bed was insanely comfy!! We stayed for the special Valentine’s Day weekend and had a fabulous 5 course meal cooked by Max and Chrissy. We really felt looked after and special to be their guests. Don’t usually write reviews but this one needs to be done me and my wife came from saffron Walden for a break and it was blooming brilliant it felt like being abroad but only ten minutes from home everything was brilliant from the room to the Mediterranean garden swimming pool was cool gym had everything to keep you happy and now the food oh my giddy aunt blooming lovely I had fish platter and my wife had a plough mans one absolutely lovely and now the hosts max and chrissie parker what a lovely couple and couldn’t be more helpful couldn’t ask for anyone better absolute stars to go with a 5 star b and b.

My boyfriend and I visited Piglets on a whim, as we just wanted to get away for a night quite locally. We randomly came across Piglets and how glad we were that we did, as it’s a little gem of a place.
Recently opened but you wouldn’t know as there were no teething problems you might expect from somewhere new.
The room was perfectly appointed with a lovely balcony overlooking the swimming pond (dragonflies a plenty!) where we had our morning cuppa.
Lots of lovely touches which give it the luxury touch; lovely bedding and bed linen, homemade cookies, fabulous shower, water and a wide selection of quality teas and coffees in the room.
We loved the communal areas where we could relax and read and play cards. Great bar!!
Breakfast was delicious with a great menu and very well cooked.
It’s set in a quiet country location so very peaceful too. Chrissie and Max couldn’t do enough without being intrusive. We will definitely return!

What a perfect stay! Can not fault. Luxury, such hospitable hosts, fabulous grounds and surrounding area, they’ve pretty much thought of every little detail to make your stay top rated, relaxing. Evening mixed fish/ meat platter and the breakfast is delicious and home cooked – highly recommended, honesty bar is a lovely touch which is very well stocked. Overall a really great stay and will re- book when next down that way!

For any one wanting a luxury B&B where the hosts Chrissie and Max go above and beyond for you in a peaceful, comfortable, idyllic location then this really is for you. I can not stress how impressed we were with this facility. The room was exceptional, very clean , well equipped with storage and the bed was so comfortable this all added up to a fabulous weekend stay.
Breakfast was delicious, we also ordered a ploughman’s platter for Saturday evening and it was wonderful. The honesty bar is a brilliant idea and was well stocked with everything you could possibly want to relax and unwind after a day exploring with a refreshing tipple. We will definitely stay again.

Chrissie and Max have it all absolutely spot-on….from the quality, facilities and personal touches in the bedrooms…cookies…great coffee…milk in the fridge…the quality of the beds (amazing).
Max is a wonderful chef – Breakfast (extraordinary and exceptional) accompanied by his suggestion of a Bloody Mary or a Screwdriver – why not!
The availability of food is inspired – amazing variety, quality choice ingredients and quantity (!). A Max platter is a must…beautifully prepared and presented.
Chrissie is a delight…caring, considerate – with a twinkle in the eye humour.
Together they have created a wonderful place – the communal areas inside and out are spacious and welcoming – the honour bar is fabulous – not to mention the gym; games room; and swimming pool. But, in the end, it’s the hosts who make the difference between the average and the exceptional.
Rarely, if ever, is it possible to say that a b&b stay was perfect – and that the hosts have thought of everything. Piglets and Chrissie and Max are that rarity! Truly fabulous.

It is really hard not to wax lyrical about this wonderful place. Chrissie and Max made us feel part of the family from the moment we arrived.
The food: We were greeted on arrival with homemade lemon cookies. There was a warm lime and pistachio cake for afternoon tea.
We ordered platters for lunch on the Saturday and were amazed by the quality and diversity of the ingredients including a delicious homemade mackerel pate, some wonderful charcuterie but not just any old ham, these were with fennel and chilli and olives. Everything we tasted was delicious (so much so that we actually cancelled our dinner reservations to stay and eat more of their delicious offerings).
Not to forget breakfast which was outstanding on every level, we were welcomed with freshly baked pastries and a mini Bloody Mary. The eggs are from hens you can see from your window and the smoked salmon was out of this world. I’m not sure I could ever eat other smoked salmon again.
The rooms and the surroundings: Totally and completely relaxing, everything in the room was luxurious and welcoming with lovely touches like amaretti biscuits and fresh milk for the coffee. The swimming pond is just beautiful, the water was so refreshing and lying by the pool with a glass of rose was the most wonderful way to spend a sunny Saturday. The gardens are immaculate with beautiful flowers and plants everywhere and perfectly tended to.
The service: I mean it is like spending the weekend with really kind friends. From the minute we arrived I felt relaxed and at home. Chrissie and Max are without a doubt two of the nicest people I have met, they even indulged us by spending some of their Saturday evening listening to us rattle on.
Their honesty bar is fully stocked with everything you could ever need, including the most delightful G+T garnish station with homemade dried fruit garnishes, pink peppercorns juniper and herbs.
Piglets is the most wonderful B&B I have had the pleasure to stay in and I cannot wait to return.
A foodies paradise
Having first stayed at Piglets in June 2021, I’m currently planning my next visit. As well as being wonderful hosts Chrissie and Max have thought of every detail you can imagine.
The beds are very comfortable, there’s fresh milk and treats in your room each day. There’s even motion sensitive floor level lighting should you need to find you way to your ensuite bathroom during the night.
If you enjoy a drink or two when you’re on holiday, the Honesty Bar is stocked with everything you can dream of.
And then there’s the food. Every ingredient is carefully sourced and of the highest standard. You need to go for several nights so you can sample different things on the breakfast menu in particular!!
Luckily you can burn it all off in the gym, out on your bike or in the pool…

So glad we have found this jewel of a B&B. Chrissie and Max are perfect hosts, so welcoming and they have thought of everything. The room was gorgeous, very comfortable and well thought out. The setting is lovely and it would be great to return in the summer months and try out the swimming pond. I need to make a special mention of the food – it was all absolutely incredible and beautifully presented (we had an evening meal and the breakfast) ..they cater for all dietary requirements and my meals were definitely the tastiest vegetarian options I’ve had.
So much choice for breakfast too. Lots of nice touches like the honesty bar, fresh milk in the rooms for tea/coffee and the tea and homemade cakes in the lounge area after we checked in. Very close to Saffron Walden which is great to wander around too.
I just wish we’d booked for two nights rather than one!

Fabulous luxury B & B, great eye for details with lovely touches. Very impressively stocked honesty bar followed next morning by super breakfast. All food been carefully locally sourced with best sausage and black pudding ever! Will definitely be going back to see Max and Chrissie again once natural pool is warmer.

The breakfasts were exceptional. They provided an astonishing range of choices. Everything was cooked with love to perfection. We couldn’t have expected better service or better quality of food.

There is nothing that has been missed at Piglets. Chrissie and Max make you feel like family from the moment you walk it. They have found the perfect balance between making their retreat warm and welcoming, but with all the attention to detail you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The pictures on their website does not do this place justice. From the coffee machine in the room, to the attention Chrissie and Max have paid to detail in the decor, bedding and linen you will not leave feeling dissatisfied.
The breakfast, platters and breakfast are delicious and so carefully prepared, you could be at a restaurant (I have never eaten so well) and the Honours Bar is a perfect addition, especially during this time of uncertainty, when going to the pub can be a stressful and uncomfortable experience. Chrissy and Max make sure you have everything you need. I cannot say enough about Piglets. It is perfect for a Staycation or Vacation. Thank you Max and Chrissie for a beautiful weekend.

Our room was spotlessly clean with homemade cookies on our bed for our arrival and afternoon cake whilst we sunbathed by the pool. Everything has been thought about to make your stay perfect. Just had a couple of nights there and enjoyed every minute. Chrissie and Max are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble….
Breakfast was perfect from fresh fruit, every choice of cereal to a delicious full English Breakfast with pastries ….plus a cheeky breakfast Bloody Mary or Red Snapper if wanted 🤪
The B&B is in striking distance of Saffron Walden and Cambridge so great for leisure and business.

5 Stars for a reason!
We have just returned from a 2 night break at this superb B&B (though the title does not do it justice!) From the moment we arrived we knew we had come to somewhere special. The warmest of welcomes from Chrissie and Max with a tour of the facilities – they really have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Lots of nice touches in the room, very well thought out. The most wonderfully comfortable bed and sumptuous bedding! The highlight for us though had to be the food which was expertly produced by Max, beautifully presented and sourced locally as much as possible. The breakfasts were to die for (the smoked salmon and scrambled egg was the best I have ever had!) and the fact that Max and Chrissie provide evening food was a real bonus. We can highly recommend the platters and the pizzas!! We spent plenty of time in the games room (sadly Max and Chrissie could do nothing about the lack of sun on our stay!) which is equipped with high quality equipment (full size snooker table/table tennis table/table football and dart board).
The Lounge with the honesty bar is a very nice touch which is very well stocked with plenty of gin and great quality wines. There are plenty of board games/books/DVDs at our disposal. Whilst we did venture out to the local villages, all of which are beautiful and well worth a visit, there is really no need to leave Piglets at all! Had the sun been out, we would no doubt have spent a large proportion of our stay alongside the natural pool or on the Italian patio. All in all a truly wonderful experience which I am quite sure we will be repeating. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Really enjoyed our stay at Piglets. The owners were very considerate and couldn’t do enough for us. The B&B is in a beautiful spot, is reasonably priced and the room we stayed in was excellent. Breakfast and a sharing platter we ordered for the night before was delicious with really superb quality produce. We look forward to returning some time in the near future

PIGLETS What a treat! This is an especially welcoming, relaxing place in a beautiful country setting just outside of Saffron Walden. Chrissie and Max are perfect hosts.
The whole place was warm and cosy on a cold January weekend. Many lovely touches including tea and homemade cake each day in their beautiful and comfortable guest lounge; homemade biscuits in our room with a great selection of teas and coffees.
The room was perfect with an exceptionally comfortable bed and great walk-in shower. All of the food was delicious, much of it made with wonderful-tasting local ingredients (we had the evening winter warmer meals and the breakfasts which kept us going all day). We very much appreciated the wealth of local information that Max was able to provide. First outing since March lockdown - couldn’t have chosen a better place
So much to like about Piglets – Chrissie and Max were super friendly and professional, the setting is so lovely and rural, accommodation was superb. We opened our curtains to a beautiful natural swimming area.
However, the star of the show for me was the food – we had a platter before heading out and we couldn’t honesty have stayed and eaten all evening, fresh hams, mixed cheeses, warm bread, salmon and sauces, loads of different Mediterranean flavoured titbits like sun dried tomatoes with Garlic, you get the picture! Breakfast was equally delicious and nothing was any trouble – you could tell the produce was all local and farmed. Really enjoyable stay and will defo be going back
Absolutely superb!
We first visited Piglets back in March, just before Lockdown, and decided to return for a one-night break as part of our first proper trip out to meet family on an Essex beach.
Max and Chrissie are wonderful hosts and the accommodation is luxurious and immaculate. We had a very relaxing afternoon sitting in the Mediterranean garden followed by a game of Scrabble in the lounge.
We shared a mixed platter for dinner, including the best smoked salmon I have ever tasted, with wine from an extensive honour bar.
Breakfast was amazing, with french pastries, coffee, local apple juice and a freshly made fruit salad (my favourite way to start the day!) but there was an extensive choice of cooked dishes available as well.
Our only disappointment was that we only stayed for one night, but hope to return soon for a weekend…

Chrissie and Max were the perfect hosts. The place was spotless and the breakfast superb. Although not completely finished when we stayed it did not affect our stay. When the place is complete it will be even better if that’s possible. Would definitely return if in the area again

What a wonderful stay! Such a nice place in the country to relax and unwind. Highly recommend even if you’re local. The facilities were fantastic and the owners are amazing cooks. We were well fed to take on our day every morning. Rooms were clean and comfy and we loved the hot sauna.

Just returned from a weekend at Piglets and had to write a review…really can’t fault the place. Chrissie and Max are the perfect hosts and for a B&B the facilities are next level…outside pool, games room, honesty bar and delicious food. A perfect stay with perfect hosts
I have recently stayed at The Piglets B&B with friends and all I can say is what a place. It is situated in an ideal location. The facilities on offer were outstanding, offering an eco pool, games room, and an honesty bar. The rooms are clean and spacious with the most comfortable beds and the bathrooms offer not just a shower but a rain shower.
The food is incredible with a large selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and made our stay that much better. I cannot wait to return soon and will definitely be recommending The Piglets B&B to friends and family

This is more than just a bed and breakfast. Wonderful food, bedrooms and bathrooms were immaculate. Pool was great, gym, bikes, games, lots of outside space etc. The owners have thought hard to please their guests and we were very happy during our stay. Will be back!!

The hosts we friendly and attentive. Unfortunately it was a bit cold for us to use the pond/pool but we were able to have a go on the infra red sauna which was lovely.

What a wonderful experience.
We visited for a mini getaway and it did not disappoint.
Secluded, quiet, luxurious it was perfect to relax.
We met the lovely Chrissie when we arrived in the evening and had a delicious mixed platter made by super Chef Max! – preorder by 3pm.
They have thought of everything, it is clean, well thought out with attention to detail and quaint (and piglet) features throughout!
We even dipped in the all natural swimming pond, completely chemical free and 100% refreshing in September! Soon to be heated along with a games room and a gym… wow!
We visited the market town of Saffron Walden on Market day but missed out on Chrissie’s afternoon cake!
In the mornings we went to the local CrossFit box Bearwalden for a workout so we could make room for their amazing breakfast, by far the best we’ve had – and we’ve had a lot of hotel breakfasts!
Everything was superb, we’re excited to tell our friends and organise another mini break at Piglet Boutique!

A Little Piece of Heaven
Everything! The location had beautiful views of the countryside. Our room was well equipped, exceptionally comfortable and had air con. The food was incredible with such attention to detail. A swim in the eco pool was refreshing. Chrissie and Max were fabulous hosts who made us feel very welcome. The wifi was very quick too, something you don’t often get when staying away from home. We will definitely return.

With a heatwave forecast, Piglets, with its natural swimming pond, greatly appealed to us for our planned 4-night break and went on to prove itself a perfect choice – we found all of the plaudits that Piglets attracts for its food, accommodation and more to be well-deserved and we much enjoyed exploring this corner of Essex on our trips out. The exceptional swimming turned out to be just one facet of an all-round superb stay. Chrissie and Max are great hosts – they put their hearts and souls into providing us with a very high quality experience, at the same time keeping things nice and relaxed with their friendly and informal approach. Do go if you can.
I am not normally famed for my unconditional love of dogs but I was very much won over by the two here, Hamish and Harry. If ever around in the absence of their master and mistress they simply resigned themselves to do no more than quietly pad about a little between long snoozes – so professional. You would need a heart of stone not to like them.

What can i say , a lovely boutique hotel where service was fantastic. Food spot on and very generous portions. Perfect distance to Saffron Walden which is close by and Cambridge a little further. Nice large bathrooms and clean rooms . What a nice little get away after a horrible year.

I stayed at Piglets for a weekend as I was in the area for a party and have discovered a jewel nestling in the beautiful countryside. The owners Max and Chrissie go the extra mile on every front to ensure your stay is perfect. Rooms are well appointed, beautifully decorated and the bed so large and comfortable I didn’t want to get out of it! They also have AC, and (sorry eco-warriors) it was bliss as the day was very hot. Breakfast was a delight with a really good menu to choose from.
Also to enjoy is the cosy guest lounge, a TV area and numerous outside areas to sit and relax and let the world go by. Max and Chrissie have created a unique B & B with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and as I was travelling on my own I really appreciated their kindness and I will definitely be back

Pre Duxford stay
I stayed just 1 night at Piglets, prior to a day at Duxford.
The rooms and environment are fabulous a real credit to Chrissie and Max who offered a very warm welcome. The attention to detail in the new annex is very impressive and special features such as ankle sensitive lights to save turning lights on at night are great.
Breakfast was as good as the overall experience. Highly recommended.

Fantastic family break
After loving Piglets last summer we came bac here to celebrate our birthdays with our grown up children and had the best time. Chrissie and Max are perfect hosts and we had fun swimming, playing table tennis and pétanque, and enjoyed drinks and delicious platters on the terrace and playing games in the lounge. Will definitely be back!
2nd visit, and still fabulous
We visited Piglets in February 2020 to “scope” it for our family party attending a wedding.
Sadly, the wedding was postponed due to C-19, but we decided to avail ourselves of the booking anyway. But to stay for longer.
And both the accommodation and the food was, like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in almost every way. Fabulous.
It is, of course, reserved for the wedding at the new date. And we are very much looking forward to this next visit.
Second Trip- didn't think it could get any better.... but it was.
Another trip to Piglets and had another fabulous stay. We’ve had a tough year and a two day stay with Chrissie and Max was just what we needed to help us get back on track.
Gorgeous room, so relaxing, amazing food (one vegan), utter luxury! We had another swim in the magical natural pool, sadly didn’t manage one on the second day.
The weather wasn’t brilliant but when you stay at Piglets it doesn’t seem to matter, there is loads to do… including relaxing!

Another fabulous stay with perfect hosts Chrissie and Max. Such a relaxing and peaceful retreat. The rooms are finished and furnished to a very high standard. Comfortable beds with crisp linen makes for the perfect nights sleep. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts and if they can help they will. One thing I can say is you will never go hungry, generous breakfasts, tea and cake at 4pm and fabulous platters to order for an evening treat, a piglets specialty.
In the evening relaxing on the terrace with your favourite tipple from the honour bar to playing snooker in the new games room was fabulous. There is so much entertainment to do here day and evening that you don’t have to leave the site. I can highly recommend
Perfect stay
I have stayed at Piglets twice , once just as they opened in July and again in October and both stays were fantastic. If anything Max and Chrissie have improved it since that first week and they really are hosts par excellence. The atmosphere created there is both relaxing and friendly and the house and grounds are beautiful but unpretentious. I felt looked after and would certainly return again. Highly recommended.
